HELP! I'm screwed! I've ruined the hardwood in my rental!!!?

So I was over zelous cleaning them I think - they are dark and ALWAYS look dirty with foot prints, etc, But now there are whitish shadowy spots in areas, that I can't rub off with a spounge.. I am freaking out - I can't afford to get this guy new floors, or pay to refinish them. I am 3 months pregnant and the father just left me. I have so many problems, PLEASE tell me there is something I can do to get rid of these light, shadowy white spots!!!
