Idk what "Race" i am?!?

Ok, so my last name is clearly of hispanic descent(It's Hernandez), but None of my family was actually BORN in Mexico or anything, and none of us know Spanish! Other than our last name, we are an average American family, but I want to learn more of our Hispanic heritage. I traced the name Hernandez and it originated in Spain, sometimes even used by JEWS( Which are considered white I think) I am not trying to sound racist AT ALL, but when I get forms to fill out I am so confused what to bubble, I know to put hispanic, but for Race, i sometimes spend days wondering what I should put, ANYONE WHO COULD HELP ME WOULD BE GREATLY APRECIATED:)
